I really need help in Life science?

If this is for a Life Sciences class, it's probably a good idea to inject some science here. Could the Prince physically drain the swamp? What sort of ecological processes might he not anticipate (think of how coastal cities are more likely to be damaged by tidal waves if they lose their coastal swamps, which mitigate such damage)? What do frogs do when their habitat changes? What sort of predator/prey relationships might be interrupted (without frogs as a food source, maybe the local snakes start making their way into the castle looking for food)? Again, showing the real world consequences, or the biological strategies the animals might engage in to resist the draining might make sense here.
